Alberto Yépez
J. Alberto
Yépez joined Trident as a Venture Partner in 2007 and will be a Managing
Director in Fund VII focusing on Enterprise Software and IT Security. Prior
to Joining Trident, Alberto was Vice President of Identity Management and Security
Strategy at Oracle. He joined Oracle through the acquisition of Thor Technologies,
Inc. a Trident portfolio company that was a leading provider of identity management
solutions. Mr. Yépez served as Chairman, President and CEO of Thor Technologies,
leading it from the pre-revenue stage to rapid growth and global expansion,
with a customer base that included many of the premier companies in financial
services, telecommunications and manufacturing markets.
Prior to Thor Technologies, in his more than 20-year career building successful
global businesses in enterprise security and infrastructure software, Alberto
was entrepreneur-in-residence at Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm.
Alberto was co-CEO and a member of the board of directors of Entrust, Inc.
(NASDAQ: ENTU), a leading provider of information security solutions, which
he joined after the successful merger of enCommerce, Inc., a leading provider
of access management and portal infrastructure solutions. Alberto co-founded
and was chairman and CEO of enCommerce from its inception. In addition, he held
senior management positions at Apple Computer and several other Silicon Valley-based
start-ups.
Alberto currently serves on the board of Trident following portfolio companies
HyTrust (a virtualization security and compliance company) and AirTight Networks
(wireless security). In addition, he actively works with other companies in
the portfolio as an advisor to management, including Arxan, TriCipher and Voltage.
Alberto attended the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University
and holds a B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electronic Physics
from the University of San Francisco. He also attended the Universidad Nacional
de Ingeniería in Lima, Perú.
