Alberto Yépez
J. Alberto Yépez is a Managing Director focusing on Software, IT Security, and mobile investments. Prior to Joining Trident, Alberto was Vice President of Identity Management and Security at Oracle. He joined Oracle through the acquisition of Thor Technologies, Inc. a Trident portfolio company that was a leading provider of identity management solutions.
Mr. Yépez was recruited by Bain Capital Ventures to become Executive Chairman of Thor Technologies, and later served its Chairman, President and CEO, leading it from the pre-revenue stage to rapid growth and global expansion.
Prior to Thor Technologies, in his more than 25-year career building successful global businesses in enterprise security and infrastructure software, Alberto was entrepreneur-in-residence at Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm.
Alberto was co-CEO and a member of the board of directors of Entrust, Inc., a leading provider of information security solutions, which he joined after the successful merger of enCommerce, Inc., a leading provider of access management solutions. Alberto co-founded and was chairman and CEO of enCommerce from its inception. In addition, he held senior management positions at Apple Computer and several other Silicon Valley-based start-ups.
Alberto currently serves on the board of Trident portfolio companies AirTight Networks (secure WI-FI solutions), BlueCat Networks (next generation IP address management), HyTrust (virtualization security and compliance), Qualys (on demand IT security risk and compliance management solutions), and Solera Networks (real-time network security analytics). In addition, he is chairman of the board of AlienVault (unified security management) and Neohapsis (security and risk advisory services).
Alberto is Chairman of the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) and is active on a number of diversity organizations. He also serves as a consultant to the Defense Venture Catalyst Initiative program of the US Department of Defense.
Alberto attended the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and holds a B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electronic Physics from the University of San Francisco. He also attended the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería in Lima, Perú.
