Andy Cao joined Trident Capital in 2012. At Trident, Andy focuses on enterprise software and healthcare IT investments. He played a significant role in the firm’s current investments in MedSave and Imagine Health and supports numerous other Trident portfolio companies. Andy’s exited investments include Prolexic Technologies (sold to Akamai).
In addition to his board work on behalf of Trident, Andy is a board member of the San Francisco-based Afghan Friends Network.
Prior to Trident, Andy worked as an Analyst in Citigroup’s Global Banking division, where he helped senior business executives across multiple industries in N. America and Europe make key strategic decisions around capital deployment, growth strategies, and optimal capital structures.
Andy graduated with honors from the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania. He received a B.S. from the Wharton School with dual concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management and a B.S. from the School of Engineering with a major in Materials Science and Engineering and a minor in Math.
Born and raised in sunny Los Angeles, Andy enjoys rock climbing outdoors, playing basketball and snacking on jalapeno kettle chips.
