Michael Biggee is a Managing Director of Trident Capital. Michael joined Trident in 2005 to expand Trident’s investment focus in IT Security. Since then, the Trident IT security team has invested in nine new companies, successfully exited seven investments and completed one initial public offering (Qualys).
In addition to IT Security, Michael leads Trident’s Business Services investment practice. Currently, he serves on the boards of Fruition Partners and Voltage Security. Michael is also currently a board observer at AlienVault, BlueCat Networks and HyTrust. Previously, he served on the board of Arxan Technologies (acquired by TA Associates) and was an observer at Prolexic (acquired by Akamai), Solera Networks (acquired by Blue Coat) and Tablus (acquired by EMC).
Michael began his investing career in 2001 with Dolphin Equity Partners, a New York based venture capital firm specializing in technology and services investments. Earlier in his career, Michael worked in the technology investment banking group at Merrill Lynch.
An east coast native, Michael earned a B.S. and Master of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University. Outside of the office, Michael enjoys playing golf, tirelessly rooting for his hometown Buffalo Bills, and hiking the parks of California with his wife and three young children.
